Fingerprint reveals interesting results

{lang: 'en-GB'}

Ever wished you knew which email clients your subscribers used to receive your emails with? It would make life much easier wouldn’t it?  Well now you can: www.fingerprintapp.com

Recently I trialled the Fingerprint system with our monthly newsletter, Infobox and it revealed some very interesting results. No, I wasn’t surprised that a good percentage of our subscribers use Outlook – it is a B2B newsletter after all. What I noted with some interest though, was that the number of subscribers using Outlook 2007 equalled those using Outlook 2003.

Well…it has been 18 months since Outlook 2007 was released, so these figures certainly shouldn’t be a surprise to us…but I’m wondering whether everyone is really prepared. I mean, remember the outcry which happened in the email marketing industry when Outlook 2007 was first released? Remember everyone tearing their hair out in frustration because Outlook 2007 used Word 2007 to render emails rather than IE 2007?

So, the question is: How many of us actually redesigned and made changes to our templates and campaigns to achieve successful renderability in Outlook 2007? OR how many of us fell into the trap of believing that as it had only just been released and didn’t have much market share, this was a task which could be deferred until later.

So – just in case you fall into the latter group, a gentle reminder – now’s the time! Here are some links which will assist you to redesign your campaigns so they render successfully in Outlook 2007.
